Join the Catalyst Performance Agronomy team as a National Sales Manager

Reporting to the CEO and working as a key leader within the business, the National Sales Manager will have overall accountability for the performance of our sales division, which includes a well-established and passionate group of Regional Managers and Sales Agronomists. To achieve success, we need someone who understands the importance of achieving exceptional results for our customers and is excited by the prospect of growing our market share.

Key Tasks

• Work closely with the CEO and leadership colleagues to develop strategic sales priorities that contribute to the overall performance of the company.

• Lead a talented team of Managers and Agronomists who are out in the paddocks every day, talking to farmers to understand their challenges and provide industry-leading expertise.

• Drive and deliver sales results to ensure the business remains not only profitable but the best in the field.

• Identify new sales opportunities for the business to explore and execute upon.

• Ensure the sales leaders are set up to provide right products and services at the right time, to the right customers.

• Provide regular sales and KPI reports to the executive team.

• Develop and build sales capability and depth in the team.

About you

This is key senior role within Catalyst and requires an experienced sales leader who is agile, professional, action oriented and happy to take a hands-on role.

Don’t expect to be sitting in an office all day, our work is done on the land, at the coal front, talking with our farmers and watching their crops grow. So, you’ll need to be excited by the prospect of meeting our key customers on farm, with our agronomists to better understand their needs and develop robust strategies.

To be successful in this exceptional new role, you will have:

• Extensive sales leadership experience, including experience in mentoring and developing sales teams.

• Primary sector experience: with an understanding of the seasonality constraints, the stakeholders and the challenges faced when providing key products and services to NZ farmers.

• An ability to build rapport, influence and close a deal.

• Outstanding commercial acumen, be analytical and driven.

• Understanding of financials – margins, GP, pricing etc

• Top notch communication skills at all levels

• Confidence and a willing to learn.

• The ability to deliver under pressure.

• The desire to be an exceptional team player.
